It all began in August of 1994 when Pastor Gary Washington felt the call to start a ministry geared towards people who hadn't had the opportunity to experience the love of Jesus Christ. Metro Life Chapel was birthed out of Pastor Gary's compassion for souls to be saved. He started the ministry in the low income areas of North Lauderdale, Fl. Gary and his wife Sandra invited people to their home to hear a word from the Lord. His first message was given to his two children and his wife. Every Saturday thereafter, Pastor Gary, Sandra, and their two children would drive to the low income communities to sing gospel songs and pass out "tracks" spreading the gospel to whoever would listen. Pretty soon, people were coming in large groups to the Pastor Gary's house to hear a word from the Lord on Sunday mornings. His first message to them was titled "Man shall not live by bread alone." Over 20 years later, the ministry has grown, but the goal remains the same. Our Mission is simple: Spread the love of Jesus all across the land, to whomever will listen.
